Pharmacy Technician

Description

Responsible for preparing and packaging medications for oral, parenteral, enteral, topical, rectal and intravenous administration for inpatient use and research protocols; maintains dispensing records for controlled substances and other medications, supplies & equipment; inspects medical areas and maintains storage standards set by JCAHO and other health regulation agencies.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; strong science background; knowledge of the metric system and good math skills; familiarity with pharmacy terminology, medication names and aseptic techniques desirable; pharmacy technician certification not required, but is encouraged.
